Facial & leg veins
Facial Veins:
Thread veins (or telangiectasia) are small superficial red, purple or blue veins which may appear anywhere on the body, but most commonly on the face and legs. Thread veins occur when the vein dilates and become large enough to be visible through the skin. They are classified according to their appearance as linear, branching or spider telangiectasia.
We offer 2 different laser systems to ensure optimal results. Intense pulsed light (IPL) and long pulsed Nd:YAG lasers. The short wavelength intense pulsed light (IPL) system is used to eliminate superficial thread veins and rosacea . The long wavelength Nd:YAG treats both superficial and deep red, purple or blue veins including haemangiomas and arteriovenous malformations.
Leg Veins:
Prominent unsightly leg veins are a very common problem. Causes include prolonged standing, pregnancy, obesity, hormones and heredity.
Leg veins are divided into varicose veins, reticular veins and thread veins. Varicose veins are treated surgically. We offer a combination of intense pulsed light (IPL), long pulsed Nd:YAG and sclerotherapy to ensure optimal treatment of both reticular veins and thread veins. There is no single effective treatment for all leg veins, so superior results are obtained with combination therapy.
