Intense pulse light
Intense Pulsed Light is indicated for permanent hair reduction, vascular lesions, pigment problems, acne and photo-rejuvenation.
Lasers emit coherent energy at a specific wavelength in a single beam of light. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is broadband light energy that enables large areas to be treated with a single discharge. This short wavelength visible light is passed through filters which can be adjusted to match the patients' skin types. Intense Pulsed Light, although not a laser, is ideal for the treatment of superficial skin lesions. The advantage of IPL is that large areas can be treated quickly. It should be noted however, that IPL devices are, as a rule, less effective at a given task than a laser dedicated to that purpose.
Hair Reduction
Red light is absorbed by pigment in the hair shaft, heating up the follicle and preventing further regrowth without damaging the surrounding skin.
Acne Treatment
Blue light is used to destroy the bacteria P.acnes. This bacteria colonises the sebaceous gland and blocks it causing acne. Intense Pulsed Light irradiates the bacteria and gently heats up the skin around the spots, producing collagen that boosts the healing process.
Pigmented and Vascular Lesions
Green light is used to treat pigment irregularities and yellow light is effective for treating vascular conditions. Excellent results are achieved with liver spots, age spots, freckles, thread veins and rosacea.
Photo-rejuvenation
Intense Pulsed Light is ideal for gently and effectively treating prematurely aged skin. A combination of green and yellow light smooths away fine lines and wrinkles. Younger, fresher skin is more obvious.
